What Is The Power of Effortless English?
What is the secret to speaking English easily and fast? What is the secret to understanding native speakers automatically?
Listen carefully.
There are, in fact 7 Rules that you must use to speak English like a native speaker. You must find lessons, a school, or a program that uses all of them.
If you find a system that uses the 7 Rules of Learning English Easily, you will succeed. You are guaranteed to succeed. In fact, you cannot fail.
But if you continue to use the same old methods-- you will get the same old results. If you don’t change, you will continue to speak slowly. You will continue to have trouble.
To get better results, you must use a better method.
Everything Changed
Nid was tired. She had been studying English for 8 years, but her speaking was still terrible.
She was going to an English school. Every night, she went to class. Every night, she studied a textbook. She studied grammar rules.
She did this for 8 years-- but no success. 8 long years.
Tired of school, one night she searched the internet for "Learn English". She found the Effortless English Email course.
7 days later she joined The Effortless English Club. Her life changed. She used the system everyday. She was surprised how easy and interesting it was. No textbooks. No grammar rules to remember. The articles were interesting, and the stories were funny and easy to remember.
Then something amazing happened. She met an American named James in a coffee shop in Bangkok. Without thinking, she started to talk with James. The words came out automatically. No effort. No translating.
She felt incredible. She was relaxed and smiling and laughing. She was speaking quickly. She didn't feel any stress or worry. James listened to her. He understood her ideas and feelings. She and James talked for 2 hours without stopping. They exchanged emails and Skype IDs. They continued to talk to each other every week.
When she got home that night, Nid sent me an email:
"I can't believe it. I just finished talking to an American guy for 2 hours. Two hours without worrying or translating. It was so easy. Thank you so much. The system really works."
Lest enjoy learning English together!!

Why You Should Only Learn Real English
みなさんこんにちは。

Hi. Today I will tell you about Megdelio-- and Rule
Number 6 for speaking English easily.
**How To Understand Native Speakers
Megdelio studied English for 5 years in Venezuela.
Teachers said he was an advanced student. Megdelio
always did well on the tests at school.
When he came to the USA, therefore, he felt good.
He thought he would easily talk with Americans.
He was excited to meet Americans. He was ready.
But when he met his first American, everything changed.
The man shook his hand and said, "Howya Doin".
Megdelio was confused. He said, "Pardon me?" The man
said, "Howya Doin". Megdelio was still confused.
He felt embarrassed.
During the next few weeks, this happened many times.
In his first English class, Megdelio had learned that
Americans say, "How are you?" when they meet.
But no Americans said that. They said,
"Whassup" or "Whatcha doin" or "Hey" or "Howzit goin".
The schools and textbooks in Venezuela never taught him
these phrases. He was confused.
**Textbook English Is Not Real English
Textbooks and schools do not use real English.
In textbooks everyone says, "How are you? I'm fine, and
you?". In English school, the teacher pronounces every
word separately and clearly.
But in real life, English speakers do not do this.
English speakers never pronounce words separately.
And they do not use textbook English. Americans never
say, "I'm fine, and you?"
If you learn from textbooks and English schools, you
will have a big problem when you speak to native
speakers. You willnot understand them.
This happens to my students in San Francisco. They
come here. They think they know English. But they do
not know real English. They only know textbook English.
Because of this, they cannot have a simple conversation
with an American. They become very embarrassed and
upset. Some of them go home. Some stay in their
apartments and never make American friends.
**You Must Learn Real English
When he joined Effortless English, Megdelio was very
upset. He didn't know what to do.
I told him to throw away his textbooks. I taught him to
use only real English materials. "Real" materials are
made for native speakers, not English students.
I told Megdelio to learn only from real English books,
movies, TV shows, comic books, audio books, articles,
newspapers, magazines, and podcasts. This is the only
way to learn the real English that native speakers use.
You must listen to what they listen to. You must watch
what they watch. You must read what they read.
Megdelio listened to my articles and my stories. He
also read American children's books. I told him to
watch a children's TV show called "Blues Clues" everyday.
After 2 months, he could easily understand. He then
listened more difficult things.
He also listened to my movie lessons- using the movie
"Hitch". Everyday he listened to the lessons.
Every week, he watched the movie.
After 6 months, he could speak easily with any native
speaker. He was not embarrassed. He was relaxed and
powerful when speaking English.
**Only Use Real English Materials
You must only use real English materials if you want to
understand and speak easily. No textbooks.
Start by using children's TV shows and children's books.
Find children's books on CD. Listen everyday. Then
listen to adolescent books on CD (for ages 10-14).
Listen everyday.
Next, find books on CD for High School age native
speakers. Watch popular TV shows such as "Lost".
In the beginning, use the subtitles. Watch the same
episode many times. Many, many times.
And finally, watch English language movies. Watch each
scene many times... first with subtitles, later without
subtitles.
Stories, TV shows, and Movies use the real vocabulary
and the real pronunciation that native speakers use.
By using only real English materials, not textbooks,
you can understand native speakers easily... and speak
easily.
**The Final Rule
In the next email, I will tell you the final rule.
I'll teach you how to speak 2-3 times faster.
Save these emails. Share them. Follow my advice.
Use all of the rules. I guarantee you will succeed.
Good luck with your English learning,

The Simple Method For Learning Grammar
みなさんこんにちは。

今回もEffortless Englishニュースレターより、
Hi. Today I want to tell you about a Japanese girl named
Miyuki.
Miyuki did very well on grammar tests. She knew all of
the grammar rules. She knew English verb tenses.
She had the best grammar score in her class.
But Miyuki had a problem. She couldn't actually use the
grammar in a real conversation. She could explain the
simple past tense, but when speaking, she would say
"Yesterday I go to school".
Miyuki was confused. How could her grammar test scores
be so good, but her speaking be so bad?
I taught her the answer: You don't need to "know"grammar,
you need to "feel" grammar.
**Michael Jordan Didn't Learn From Books
Micheal Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever.
How did he learn to play so well? Did he study books
about basketball? Did he memorize the rule book?
Did he focus on explaining basketball?
Of course not. Jordan learned by doing. He learned
by watching great players and copying them. He learned
by using his basketball skills. And he learned by
focusing on the most important skills--the basic skills.
In an interview, Jordan said that he still practiced
free throws every day.
Free throws are the easiest shot in basketball.
Why would the greatest player in the world still
practice them? Because Jordan knew that basic skills
were the most important. He never stopped practicing
them.
Michael Jordan wasn't good at studying basketball,
he was good at playing basketball.
He didn't "know" basketball, he had a deep and powerful
"feel" for playing it.
**Miyuki Changed To The Michael Jordan Method
After joining Effortless English, Miyuki changed her
study methods. She stopped studying grammar rules.
Instead, she focused on the most important basic grammar
skills. I taught her to focus on only the most common
verb tenses: the simple past, the present, the perfect
tenses, and the future.
80% of English speech uses these tenses.
They are the most important.
**Miyuki Did Not Memorize
Miyuki learned this basic grammar using stories. How?
First I gave her a short story in the present tense.
She listened to it everyday. Once she understood it
easily and automatically, I gave her the exact same
story-- but this time it started with "10 years ago...."
She learned to "feel" the past tense by listening to
this story. She never studied rules.
Next, I gave her the exact same story.
This time, it started with "Since 2004..."
Miyuki learned to feel the perfect tenses by listening
to this story. She never studied or memorized grammar
rules. She just listened to each version of the story
2-3 times every day.
Finally, I gave her the exact same story... beginning
with "Next year". She learned to "feel" the future
tense simply by listening to this story many times.
***Point Of View Mini-Stories
I call these story versions "Point Of View Mini-Stories".
They are the most powerful way to get a feel for English
grammar-- and to use correct grammar automatically.
You must learn grammar by listening to real English.
The best way is to listen to the exact same story...
told in different times (points of view).
**How You Can Do This
How can you do this? First, find a short simple story
in the present tense. Then ask a native speaker to
write the story again, using different beginning phrases:
"10 years ago...."
"Since 2004....."
"Next year......."
Next, ask your friend to read these stories and record
them.
Listen to each version everyday. 2-3 times everyday.
Continue to listen until you "feel" each story version.
Continue to listen everyday until the phrases and
grammar go deep.
Then you will be able to use English grammar when
speaking. Then you will be able to use English grammar
automatically when you speak.
**How To Learn Real English
In the next email, I will tell you how to avoid textbooks
and learn only real English. I'll tell you how to learn
the English that we really speak-- not what you find in
books and schools.
Save these emails. Follow my advice.
If you use the Effortless English system, I guarantee
you will succeed.
Good luck with your English learning,

Slow, Deep Learning Is Best
みなさんこんにちは。

本日はEffortless Englishニュースレターより、
Hi.
When you speak easily and fluently, it feels great.
The words come out quickly. You don't need to think or
translate. You feel totally comfortable using English.
You feel relaxed. Communication is fun and easy.
**Hyun Discovers Rule Number 4
Hyun is a very serious student. While studying English
in Korea, she memorized the definitions of 50,000 English
words. Fifty Thousand!
Her problem was, she couldn't use them. She could easily
pass an English vocabulary test. But she could not
understand native speakers. And she couldn't use all
of those words in a conversation. Hyun was a good test
taker, but a terrible English speaker.
With Effortless English, Hyun learned how to instantly
understand spoken English and how to automatically use
vocabulary. After 6 months using the system, she could
speak quickly and easily. She didn't have to translate.
She didn't have to think. She became a fluent speaker.
**Slow, Deep Learning Is Best
It is useless to memorize thousands of words if you can't
understand them instantly in a conversation... and if you
can't use them automatically without thinking.
The secret to speaking easily is to learn every word and
phrase deeply. Its not enough to know a definition.
You must plant the word deep into your brain.
To speak English easily, you must go slower. You must
repeat each audio lesson and article many times.
You should repeat each lesson 2-3 times every day.
You should do this for one week. That's right, only
one lesson per week.
This is the key to learning deeply.
This is the key to speaking automatically, without
thinking or translating. You must learn English deeply.
Each time you listen to a lesson, you are closer
to instant understanding and automatic speaking.
**Deep Learning Of Grammar
What about grammar? How do you learn it deeply,
without studying and memorizing grammar rules?
I'll tell you how in the next email.
Until then, take care and enjoy your English learning!

Speak English Easily Using The Effortless English System
みなさんこんにちは。

本日はEffortless Englishのホームページから、
"Translation from one language into another is a harmful approach because it slows down communication. The research shows that translation and grammar study do not work for most students"
-- Dr. James Asher
I live in Mexico City and I listen to Effortless English on my ipod. I want to thank you for the excellent work you are doing. In fact I used to study a lot of grammar and did not focus on listening skills.
After listening to your episode named "Why grammar is bad" I changed my mind and I started to listen more and more. My pronunciation and fluency have improved!
Last week I was in Cleveland, USA. I was talking with real native speakers! My experience with the English language was really good-- I really could express many emotions and ideas."

Angelina's Story
みなさんこんにちは。
いつもブログを読んでいただき、ありがとうございます!
本日は5月12日発行のニュースレターを紹介すると共に、ニュースレターの中で紹介したAngelina's Storyをポドキャストにしました。是非アクセスして聞いてみて下さい!Angelina's Success
では、5月12日発行のニュースレターより、
A few days ago, you asked for information about the
Effortless English learning system.
During the next several days, you will receive suggestions about how
to study English in a powerful way. You will learn how to finally
speak English easily and fluently
**Why Grammar Study Is Bad
In school, teachers told you to study grammar. They told you that
grammar was the key to learning English. They were totally wrong.
In fact, studying grammar rules is the worst thing to do. Grammar
study will destroy your English fluency.
Why? Because grammar study forces you to think too much. You
don't want to think about speaking English, you want to speak
quickly-- without thinking or trying. You want to speak English
like a native speaker.
**Angelina's Story
One day, a student from Paraguay came to my class. She could not
speak English. In her home country, she had studied many years--
mostly grammar. But she could not speak.
The first day in my class, she was shy. She came with a textbook,
ready to do what she had always done-- ready to study grammar.
I surprised her-- because I never used the textbook.
Instead, I told her a story. I told the story several times. As
I told the story, I asked many questions. She answered them- a
little shyly. She was confused,... Why was this crazy teacher
telling her a story and asking so many questions!?
Then I asked her to tell the story to me-- she was shocked and
amazed-- she could do it!
After just two weeks in my class, her friends noticed a big
improvement in her speaking. They asked her, "What are you doing?
How are you improving so quickly?"
**Stop Studying Grammar
Angelina finally started to improve speaking when she
stopped studying grammar. This is your first step. Stop studying
grammar. Right now. Stop. Put away your grammar books and
textbooks. You don't need them anymore. Don't think anymore about
English grammar.
**The Effortless English Club
At the Effortless English Club, we learn English without grammar
study. Members improve their speaking quickly. They improve their
listening ability. And yes, their grammar improves too.
The system is powerful. It works. Its guaranteed.
If you are ready, join our exclusive group of motivated learners.
Finally learn to speak English fluently.

*The Vital Secret For English Learning Power
In the next email, I will discuss the most important secret to
speaking English fluently. And over the next few weeks, I will send
more suggestions.
Save these emails. Read them carefully. Follow my advice.
I guarantee your success.
